Cosmetic Fillers

It is our objective to offer both surgical and non-surgical solutions to cosmetic challenges. Cosmetic fillers are among our most important non-surgical treatments for the aging effects of time and environment.

We offer a veritable buffet of injectable substances to fill in facial lines and depressions. These work best in the lower face, around the mouth and nose, and in lip enhancement. In our descriptions below we have estimated average effective durations, but keep in mind that individual body responses differ.

We are pleased to include in this treatment the anesthetic effect provided by our cooling device, the Zimmer Elektromedizin Cryo-5. Topical anesthetic creams are also available.

Listed below are the injectable fillers available to you. Often more than one filler is selected by Dr. Mash to create the desired appearance, as some are used for deep filling and others for superficial smoothing. Fillers work well used in conjunction with Botox.

Artefill®: This filler combines purified collagen gel with microspheres for both immediate and progressive, enduring wrinkle correction. Artefill contains an anesthetic for injection comfort, and is the nearest thing to permanent wrinkle correction available today. A skin test is required. Get the results you want with one or two treatments.

Collagen: Skin tests are necessary before using this purified bovine filler to replenish the skin’s natural collagen, used to smooth facial lines, scars and create lip border definition. Collagen normally lasts four to six months.

Fat Cell Transfer: We also offer fat cell transfers as an excellent alternative to synthetic fillers. We harvest your own fat cells through liposuction and transfer them by injection to fill unwanted lines and wrinkles. Excess fat is deep frozen and stored for a limited time so as to be available should periodic additional volume be desired.

Juvederm™: Hyaluronic Acid is the active ingredient in this filler, a smooth-consistency injectable gel. This HA filler, FDA approved to last up to one year, is injected directly under the skin to instantly smooth out facial wrinkles and folds. It retains its smoothness and softness as it slowly re-absorbs. Skin test not required.

Perlane:  is a hyaluronic acid filler similar to Restylane, but containing larger particulates designed for deeper injection.  It is FDA approved to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.  Facial fullness provided by natural hyaluronic acid diminishes with age; Perlane can smooth, volumize, and maintain its cosmetic results for at least 6 months.

Radiesse™: Formerly marketed as “Radiance”, this long-lasting injectable filler uses calcium-based microspheres suspended in a natural gel to achieve correction of folds and wrinkles. No pretesting needed. Results may last up to a year or more in many patients.

Restylane®, Hylaform, and Captique: A new generation of FDA-approved fillers using purified Hyaluronic Acid to restore volume and fullness to correct facial wrinkles and folds. No pre-testing needed. These fillers may last six months or longer.

Sculptra™: A synthetic, biodegradable and biocompatible lactic acid polymer filler, for restoration or correction of the signs of facial fat loss or volume deficiencies. It may last up to two years. As with most synthetic fillers, no skin tests are necessary.

Silikon™: A synthetic filler with a silicone base, used for correcting superficial lines and creases. Can be considered a permanent filler, therefore it is recommended that you use a temporary filler first to determine if you like the look. No pre-testing is necessary.
