Cosmetic Changes: Feeling Better
Many men and women suffer silently with a pain in the bottom of their feet that can be alleviated. Dr. Mash is able to provide her patients with a procedure called "Pillows For The Feet®." The pillows for feet procedure employs dermal fillers to provide additional cushioning in the ball of the foot.
'Fillers' have been used for many years to enhance facial features the face. Feet also lose fat as part of the ageing process.
This technique involves introducing fillers into the sole of your foot to restore lost volume caused by the ageing process. This will make walking in heels more comfortable.
Dermal filler injections into the ball of the foot can augment the fat pad found underneath the ball of the foot. The fat pad provides protection from the forces applied to the foot when in a normal standing position. But when the foot is in high heels the position of the metatarsal heads and fat pad shifts. The fat pad moves, resulting in additional pressure on the metatarsal heads and much more load being put through them, this can lead to pain and a burning sensation in the sole of the foot.
As we age the fat pad becomes thinner and the discomfort occurs more often when wearing heels and sometimes can be a problem even in flat shoes.
The use of dermal fillers in the Pillows for feet® procedure provides a safe conservative alternative to surgery for this type of problem. Depending on the dermal filler used the results can last up to one year, Dermal fillers like Restylane, Sculptra and Laresse have been used for many years in plastic surgery and have a proven track record for safety.
Although the Pillows for feet® procedure is a conservative procedure you will always have a consultation with Dr. Mash prior to the procedure being undertaken. She will be able to select the right dermal filler to suit your requirements.

Facelifts For The Feet
Dr. Mash often hears stories about women and men that look down at their feet and are disturbed to see neglected feet and begin to think about the summer that is fast approaching. They know that bare feet and sandals will be common. Although many will want to wear some type of open footwear to reveal most of their feet, they will continue to wear clunky shoes that cover their feet, which they feel are unattractive.
Dr. Mash and her staff can help. They can provide services and cosmecueticals that will help bring the feet to become more attractive and less painful.
Cosmetic Changes: Looking Better
So what’s involved in cosmetic dermatology of the feet? Some are having fat removed, making high heels look better, while others have fat added to the balls of their feet so heels feel better and pain lessens.
Microdermabrasion (related Dermabrasion), which resurfaces, smoothes and softens the skin on the feet, can make your tootsies look more radiant. Other common foot procedures that lead to beauty down below include professionally treating fungal nails, exfoliation with pumice stone, moisturizing and getting hooked up with orthotics -- custom-made inserts to support those tired, achy dogs. If corns and bunions are present, Dr. Mash will refer a podiatrist.
Dr. Mash has specialists that are able to give her patients a "foot facial" – it includes microdermabrasion, nail whitening, a chemical peel and a cream that stimulates collagen cells in the bottom of the foot.
Pedal hyperhidrosis or excessive foot sweating is usually accompanied by increased hand
sweating. This could be a part of a general excessive perspiration syndrome consisting of
a combination of hand, feet, face or armpit sweating.
Foot sweating can be treated with a variety of medications which may be used orally. But many have unwanted side effects. It can also be treated with Botox, but this solution is painful and expensive.
Dr. Mash effectively treats her patients with filler injections and is able to provide relief for patients who have all but given up finding solutions to excessive foot sweating. (Dr. Mash also treats underarms and hands for Hyperhidrosis.)
