Dr. Marlene Mash was named the 2008 Citizen of the Year, along with Stan B. Huskey, by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
She was honored by the Chamber and friends on November 20, 2008 at a banquet and reception.

Dr
Mash is, so far as we can determine, the first area aesthetic
dermatologist to offer a non-surgical skin rejuvenation package
using a novel strategy that combines multiple wavelengths of laser
lights. These are targeted to three different depths of the
skin and can correct the signs of aging in a non-wounding way.
The laser
treatments can be delivered consecutively during a single session,
and sessions can be repeated at close intervals (every week) since
there is little to no postoperative recovery time! Your laser
treatments will take place over a six week period, and you will be
asked to come in on the same day each week. The laser
treatments will be scheduled as follows:
Week
1: Titan Laser, Genesis Laser, Harmony Laser.
Time: approximately 2.5 hours.
Weeks
2 & 3: Genesis Laser. Time: approximately 1 hour
each visit.
Week
5: Same as Week 2 & 3
Week
6: Titan and Genesis Lasers plus injection of filler to be
determined by Dr. Mash in consultation with you, as being
the best choice for your
face.
Titan: Treats
the deepest layer of the skin. The laser's infrared light is
absorbed by water resulting in an even heating of the deep dermis.
This damages collagen fibrils, which immediately recoil causing the
collagen to contract and the skin to tighten. Also new collagn
production is stimulated, improving skin strength and elasticity over
time.
Genesis
YAG: Targets the mid-layer of the skin, and stimulates collagen
production. Collagen is the main protein of connective tissue and
is responsible for maintaining the skin's strength and elasticity
which, when degraded, results in wrinkles. Treats fine-line
wrinkles, large pores, uneven skin texture, diffuse redness, and
scars.
Harmony
IPL: This laser treats the uppermost skin layer, lightening
superficial discolorations in the epidermis and upper dermis.
Although the exact mechanisms remain elusive, clinical studies
suggest that IPL therapy stimulates the shedding of melanosomes,
reducing brown and red age spots, acne blemishes, freckles, and
general hyperpigmentation.
